At Habits, we’re excited to share that CEO and co-founder Jack Boudreau was recently featured in Newsweek for his take on the “zillennial” generation. His TikTok exploring how this generation grew up during a unique period of cultural and technological change has been liked more than 58,000 times.
The zillennial experience
In the video, Jack explores what makes zillennials different from both millennials and Gen Z.
Millennials graduated into the financial crisis, while Gen Z entered adulthood during the pandemic. Zillennials, by comparison, entered college during what Jack described as a “golden era”—when technology was becoming part of everyday life, but before smartphones and social media completely changed how we experienced it.
The post resonated with thousands of viewers who shared their own experiences of growing up between two generations. Newsweek noted that Jack’s framing helped capture shared memories around the transition to smartphones and entering a job market before AI and remote work reshaped it.
Why it resonated
For Jack, the idea came from the experience of turning 30 and reflecting on a generation caught between two very different worlds.
“I think it hit home because it’s honest, relatable, and captures that weird in-between stage so many of us are living through.”
The story also reflects something central to Habits: our focus on understanding the experiences, priorities, and challenges of the next generation.
