The web app: your home base
The web app is where most of your work happens. Log in at app.usehabits.com, open the Engagement Engine, and you're in your Intelligence Dashboard. Pick your mode at the top - People or Companies - and tell the engine who you're researching. For audiences, four fields do the work: location, occupation, income, and age. For companies, just start typing a name.
From here you can:
- Search companies, and research prospects by demographics like age, income, location, and occupation
- Generate outreach, emails, and meeting prep
- Review source material - articles and trending social media posts - then leverage them to generate content, newsletters, marketing campaigns, or any kind of publishing
When you research by demographics, the output is intelligence about that audience - what they're facing, what resonates with them, and how to open the conversation - not a contact list. You bring the who. The engine brings the what, the when, and the how.
Think of the web app as your dedicated workspace. When you're sitting down to do focused prospecting or prep, this is where you go.
Company search: start with who, not what
Company search is the front door to everything else. Type in a company and the Engagement Engine pulls together what actually matters: what the company does, what's happening with them right now, who the relevant people are, and - most importantly - why any of it is relevant to you.
This is the difference between the Engagement Engine and a Google search. Google gives you information. The Engagement Engine gives you an angle.
Say a prospect works at a regional healthcare company. Search the company and in seconds you have its business model, recent news - an acquisition, a hiring push, a rough quarter - and what those events likely mean for the people who work there: equity questions, benefits changes, job anxiety, relocation. Any one of those is a conversation a good professional should be starting. Now you know which, and with whom.
The Chrome Extension: the engine wherever you already are
The Chrome Extension brings the Engagement Engine directly into LinkedIn. You're on a prospect's profile, and instead of switching tabs, copying details, and losing your train of thought, you click the Habits icon, pick your mode - Meeting Prep or Outreach - add a line of context if you want, and hit Generate. In seconds you get the opportunity, the angle, and a message ready to copy.
LinkedIn is where your prospects already tell you who they are and what they're working on. The extension turns that into your next conversation without ever leaving the page.
Install it from the Chrome Web Store. It takes about 30 seconds, and it's where the Engagement Engine stops feeling like a tool and starts feeling like a reflex. For the full setup walkthrough, see Engagement Engine for LinkedIn.
Which one when
Use the web app for focused sessions: building a prospect list, prepping for tomorrow's meetings, drafting a newsletter. Use company search anytime you need to understand a company or person fast. Use the Chrome Extension whenever you're on LinkedIn, because that's where prospecting moments actually happen - and the best ones rarely happen when you've scheduled them.
The tool that wins is the one you actually use. We built three doors so there's always one nearby.
