How the Engagement Engine Works

The takeaway: The data, sources, and intelligence behind the Engagement Engine.

The Engagement Engine uses proprietary technology to pull information from millions of sources, including major news and social platforms, so you have current, relevant information on every person and company you research.

Instead of relying on a single source, it brings information together from many different places, including public data, company information, news, social media, economic data, and Habits' own data.

That gives the Engagement Engine more context when it researches a person, company, audience, or industry.

A wide range of sources

The Engagement Engine brings together information from sources such as:

  • Public information and company data
  • Major news publications and articles
  • Social media posts and trends
  • Economic and market data
  • Habits' own marketplace data
  • Data from private company sources

The goal is simple: bring the information you need together in one place instead of making you search across multiple websites.

Marketplace data

Habits also has its own data from operating a marketplace that connects consumers with financial advisors.

That gives us insight into the questions people ask, what they're looking for, and the information that matters to them when choosing an advisor.

This data helps inform how the Engagement Engine understands audiences and the information it surfaces.

Understanding the person

The Engagement Engine also considers information such as age, location, occupation, and income range when looking at an audience.

These details provide additional context around what may matter to a particular group of people.

For example, the same company news may be relevant to two people for very different reasons. Understanding who you're researching helps the Engagement Engine provide more useful context.

What this means for you

You don't need to understand how all of this works to use the Engagement Engine.

The important part is that you get research that brings together information from many different sources and puts it into context for the person, company, audience, or industry you're researching.

The result is information you can use to prepare for a meeting, research a prospect, find a topic to discuss, or decide what to do next.

A note on trust

The Engagement Engine is SOC 2 Type II certified, which means our systems and security controls are independently reviewed and audited against established standards for protecting information.

The Engagement Engine is also designed to work alongside your existing compliance process. You don't upload your client list, connect your CRM, or send messages directly from the platform. You decide what information to use, make any changes you need, and handle the final communication yourself.

We've also worked through compliance reviews with firms including LPL, Prudential, and Osaic.
